The Hudson Model U rested on a 126-inch wheelbase and was available as a seven-passenger sedan, touring sedan, brougham, and phaeton. Power was from an engine that it shared with the Model T, an L-head eight-cylinder unit. It produced 80 horsepower and was mated to a three-speed sliding gear transmission. Braking was handled by Bendix mechanical brakes at all four corners. Pricing ranged from $1150 - $1300.
Touring SedanThe engine was an L-head unit that replaced the prior year's F-head version. It was a controversial decision to make this change, and it wasn't made any easier by the fact that it had 12 fewer horsepower. This engine would remain in production until 1952.
