The 1924 Hudson Super Six models were virtually identical to those offered during the 1923 model year. The engine remained a 289 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine that offered 76 horsepower and was mated to a three-speed sliding gear transmission. They had a semi-floating rear axle and mechanical brakes on the rear wheels. Wooden spoke wheels with detachable rims could be found at all four corners.
Midway through 1924, Hudson updated the line, giving the vehicles several styling changes. The windshields were given a curved lower edge and the hood line was raised from the radiator to the cowl. The 125.5-inch wheelbase was extended to 127.5 inches. The tires, which had been 34x4.5, now measured 33 x 6.20. Changes continued to the steering and suspension. The engine, however, remained unchanged except for the addition of a separate intake manifold mounted on the right side. In prior years, the manifold was located on the opposite side of the engine and cast integrally with the block. The side draft carburetor, made by Hudson, was replaced by a Detroit Lubrication model.
Hudson offered the Super Six in a variety of body styles, including a four-door sedan with seating for five or seven individuals. A two-door model with seating for five was also available, selling for $1395. Biddle & Smart were tasked with building several of the bodies for the Hudson marque.
During the 1924 model year, Hudson made 59,427 shipments to its dealers.
