In 1946, Chevrolet introduced the Fleetmaster Six Series (DK) as a replacement for the Special Deluxe group. Inside, amenities included plush upholstery and twin sun visors, wood-grained window sills and armrests in the front seats. Under the hood was a six-cylinder, overhead valve, 216.5 cubic-inch engine offering 90 horsepower. Body styles included a sport coupe, a 2-door town sedan, a convertible, a sport sedan, and a station wagon. The 4-door sport sedan was the most popular with 73,746 examples sold. The 2-door town sedan was also popular with 56,538 finding customers. Just 804 examples of the station wagon were purchased.
