1968 Ferrari 365 GTC

The Ferrari 330 GTC (Gran Turismo Coupe) made its debut on the Ferrari stand at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show and would remain in production until 1968, with 598 examples built. Engine capacity increased in 1968 from 4.0-liters and 300 horsepower to 4.4-liters and 320 horsepower. The new Tipo 245/C engine would be Ferrari's last V-12 to feature single overhead camshafts. The 365 GTC produced an additional twenty horsepower over its predecessor with greater power at a lower range of the RPM band and strong torque developing at as low as 2,500 RPM. Along with better mechanical performance, the 365 GTC was constructed in far smaller quantities.

Both the 365 GTC and the GTS served as replacements for the 330 GTC and GTS, with just 20 examples of the GTS ultimately being built. The styling, however, remained mostly unchanged and combined several design cues from other premium Ferraris, including the front end of the 400 Superamerica, and the tail of the 275 GTS. With the luxurious quality of its predecessor and improved acceleration, the new GTC required only modest styling changes and modernization, with the most visual change being the relocation of the engine cooling vents to the hood.

Ferrari produced 168 examples of the 365 GTC from 1968 to 1970. It was a refined road-going model with slim pillars, an airy glass-oriented cabin, an oval-shaped grille, and a tapered tail.

The 4,390cc single overhead camshaft twelve-cylinder engine had three Weber 40 DFI/7 twin-choke carburetors helping it produce 320 horsepower at 6,000 RPM. It was mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and four-wheel servo-assisted disc brakes provided the stopping power. The suspension was independent with coil springs and shock absorbers.

The 365 Series was introduced in the late 1960s and stayed in production until the early 1970s. The 365s were often powered by a Columbo SOHC 4390 cc V-12 engine with three Weber carburetors capable of producing around 300 horsepower. The front and rear suspension for most of the series was independent with double wishbones and coil springs. The 365 GT4 22 had an independent with transverse parallelograms....
