1981 Alba AR1

Alba means 'Dawn.' In 1981, a one-off Formula 3 car named the AR1 was created and made its first appearance at Mugello in October of 1981. It was powered by an Alfa Romeo engine and wore a design by Giorgio Stirano (an ex-Osella engineer). Enzo Coloni drove it in 1981. The following year, it was driven by Giovanni Alberti and David Pavia.

After the AR1 experiment, Stirano began designing and building Group C Junior sports cars.
