Ex Jerry Seinfeld Porsche Supercar to Cross the Block at Russo and Steele Monterey!
June 13, 2017 by Russo and SteeleScottsdale, Arizona (June 13th, 2017) In February 2006, Porsche revealed the first generation 997 GT3, commonly now known as the 997.1 GT3. In addition to a new 415 PS (305 kW) 3.6 litre flat-six engine, the vehicle featured 'zero lift' aerodynamics, meaning the car creates only aerodynamic downforce and no grip-diminishing 'lift' upwards and away from the road surface. The vehicle made use of a modified, track oriented version of Porsche's active PASM suspension making it the first of Porsche's RS or GT3 versions to feature an electronically adjustable suspension system. A total of 917 units were sold in the United States and 46 units in Canada. This extra special example was originally purchased by comedy legend and world-renowned Porsche aficionado Jerry Seinfeld. Following in the footsteps of such incredible road going Porsches, such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.8, the GT3 RS is essentially a street-legal, track-ready race car. Equal parts development and madness, the GT3 RS is the ultimate incarnation of the Porsche GT Series 911s. With seamless power and an 8,400-rpm redline, the GT3 RS jaunts flawlessly from 0-60 in just 4 seconds. Also featuring lightened bodywork and a widened rear end, the GT3 RS continues to capture that true 'track vibe' with special carbon fiber bucket seats, six-point harness and a rollcage. Experience all the high energy excitement of Russo and Steele in Monterey for yourself! Bidder registration is just $200 and includes admission for all 3 days of 'Auction in the Round' action for the bidder and one lucky guest.
