For 2001, the BMW M5 received a new M sport steering wheel. Priced at $69,400 the four-door, 5-passenger sedan was powered by a dual-overhead cam V8 that offered nearly 400 horsepower. The M5 had a six-speed manual gearbox and disc brakes at all four corners.
