The all-new 1965 Chrysler New Yorker had a bold new grille, glass-covered headlamps (in a similar fashion to the 300 models), and 'New Yorker' script on the rear quarter panel. The station wagons now had a center pillar. Power came from an overhead valve 413.8 cubic-inch V8 offering 340 horsepower and mated to an automatic gearbox. Pricing for the New Yorker ranged from $4170 - $4860. The most popular body style was the sedan, which attracted 21,110 buyers. Just 1,368 opted for the 6-passenger station wagon and 1,697 purchased the 9-passenger version of the station wagon.
