Mecum Daytime Auction In Monterey Achieves $34 Million• LaFerrari and Bugatti top all sales at Del Monte Golf Course

WALWORTH, Wis. – Aug. 25, 2017 – This year's Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey, California, at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course saw 328 vehicles hammer sold Aug. 16-19 for overall sales totals of $34 million.

Topping all sales were three modern supercars, all of which broke into seven-figure sale prices. The 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari (Lot S102) sporting just 565 original miles hammered for $3.45 million, followed by the one-of-150 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse (Lot S116) that brought $2.35 million. At No. 3 was the auction's newest-model offering, a 2017 Ferrari F12tdf (Lot S79) that demanded $1.25 million.

1.1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback (Lot S36) at $385,000

1.2011 Porsche 911 Speedster (Lot S86) at $340,000

Motorcycles at the auction also garnered serious attention with the oldest-known original-paint Indian (Lot S14) hailing from the Giorgio Motorcycle Collection hammering at the top of the two-wheeled pecking order for $190,000. Eight of the other nine offerings from the Giorgio Collection also hammered sold for a princely sum of $671,500 in total. A 1923 Indian Chief (Lot S58) previously owned by Steve McQueen was another highlight among the motorcycle offerings, and it gaveled for a strong $110,000. In all, 39 motorcycles hammered sold for total sales of $1.54 million.
