The Fiat Brava 131 was available as a 2-door or 4-door sedan. For 1979, it gained a station wagon body style, selling for nearly $5,800. Under the hood was a 2-liter dual-overhead cam four-cylinder engine offering nearly 90 horsepower. The engine was identical to the one found in the Spider 2000 convertible. The car could be purchased with a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional GM three-speed automatic. Inside, several changes occurred to the instrument panel. The seats grew wider and velour upholstery was available for sedans. The wagons were given vinyl and came standard with a luggage rack. Pricing for the 1979 Fiat Brava ranged from $5,290 - $5,790.
