High bid of $32,000 at 2013 Mecum Auctions - Monterey. (did not sell)
The Aston Martin Lagonda was introduced at the London Motor Show and its Avant-grade 'folded paper' styling, high tech digital dash, and near-supercar performance was a true sensation. Power was from a hand-built 5.3-liter dual overhead cam V8 engine rated at 280 horsepower. The factory claimed a top speed of 143 MPH. Aston Martin listed them for 46,000 GBP which made the Lagonda more expensive than essentially everything but a Rolls-Royce Corniche. Between 1978 through 1989, just 645 examples were produced. This car is chassis number 13446 and is one of 56 cars built for the 1986 model year. It has been driven a mere 17,927 total miles and most recently it has spent several years semi-dormant, stored in a collection, and maintained by an Aston Martin dealer.
