1910 Pickard Model H

In 1896, Emil, Benjamin, and Alfred Pickard established a machine shop in Brockton, Massachusetts. Initially concentrating on bicycles, they turned to automobiles at the turn of the century. They built their first car in 1903, which they drove and tested for four years. A production model came to market in October 1908. Not unlike many automotive pioneers, a lack of capital caused the company's disappearance by 1912.

This unusual vehicle is the only known Pickard to exist of the 52 produced. During the early 1980s, it was part of the Harrah Collection. Powered by a 201 cubic-inch, 25 horsepower air-cooled 4-cylinder engine with a sliding-gear transmission and shaft drive, the bands of the brakes are lined with camel hair. The Brewster Green exterior and black leather interior is all-original, but the running gear has been repainted, new tires fitted, and the interior floor covering replaced.
