The 1990 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency was available as a base and Brougham models consisting of a sedan body style. Power was from the Series 3800 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle. 17,914 examples of the base sedan were produced along with 38,915 Brougham and 5,566 Brougham Touring sedan were produced. Pricing began at $20,000 for the base sedan and rose to $26,800 for the Brougham Touring Sedan. Oldsmobile improved the beam stiffness and reinforced the joints for the 1990 model year. The steering gear was improved and the Touring Sedan was given acoustic materials in the roof, trunk floor and rear seat areas to reduce interior noise. The list of standard features included remote keyless entry and auto-down feature. The headrests on the Touring Sedan were reduced in size. Optional equipment included driver's side airbag, anti-lock brakes, and remote-controlled power door locks.
