1952 International Harvester L-120

1952 International Harvester L-120 1952 International Harvester L-120 1952 International Harvester L-120 IHC stands for International Harvester Company, formed in 1902 following a merger between International Harvester and McCormick. For more than a century, the company was a world-leading producer of farm machinery and trucks.

In 1950 IHC launched the all-new L-Series truck, complete with a one-piece windshield (unusual then) and a single-choice (for the L-120) 220 cubic-inch 6-cylinder overhead valve motor with 101 horsepower. It was a replacement for the former KB series and sales focused on the bare chassis, and chassis and cab, although one could order a woodie station wagon, Metro van, milk and bakery trucks, and a small school bus. The L-120 featured a 3/4-ton, 127-inch chassis, just perfect for a Hercules-Campbell Body Company of Tarrytown, New York, custom school bus body like this one.

The L Series could be purchased with an optional clock, radio, or electric wipers. Production continued through 1952 when it was replaced by the R Series.
