Petersen Automotive Museum Introduces All-New Expanded Carstories Format For Its Fourth Season

December 14, 2017 by The Petersen Automotive Museum

After 200 episodes and nearly four years, the popular automotive program now features guests driving their prized vehicles and is available via Facebook and YouTube video, in addition to the audio podcast.

Los Angeles (December 14th, 2017) – The Petersen Automotive Museum today announced that after more than 200 episodes of its popular CarStories podcast, featuring guests ranging from Richard Rawlings to Cheech Marin, the show is being expanded to offer even more ways to enjoy the content and hear people's stories about their love affair with the automobile. Rather than a studio setting, guests will now tell their stories from behind the wheel of their vehicle, driving the roads of Southern California around the Petersen Museum. Fans can listen to the audio podcast as they always have, or watch video on Facebook or YouTube when it goes live every Thursday at 7 A.M. PST.

The first official guest of the new season is Petersen first chairman and current vice-chairman Bruce Meyer, who is affectionately known as 'The Car Guy's Car Guy' for his infectious smile, fierce advocacy for the car hobby, and incredible car collection. His '57 Porsche 356 Coupe is a frequent ride and crowning jewel in his collection. Born out of the Porsche subculture of 'Outlaw'-style cars that started in the canyons of California, Meyer's 356 features a more powerful engine, wider wheels, lower suspension, and a roll bar, giving the car a distinct attitude.

'Our mission is to share the stories, passion, and history of amazing vehicles with people around the world,' said Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges. 'This new format gives people at home a unique perspective into both the guest and the vehicle, offering them an opportunity to be in the car, riding around LA, hearing the car's sounds, and taking part in the conversation.'

New episodes will feature a variety of guests in the coming weeks, including Matt Farah, Scott Toepfer, Charles Fleming, Leslie Kendall, Alex Rossi, Derek Hill, and Jubal Leierer.

Subscribers can tune in each Thursday on Shout Engine (www.shoutengine.com/CarStories/), iTunes, and the museum's official YouTube page (www.youtube.com/user/PetersenMuseum) to catch the newest episodes.
