1904 Humber 8.5HP Twin-Cylinder

This particular Two Seater is one of those 8.5 horsepower motorcars influenced by Mr. Budge. It has a history that dates back to its earliest days. It wore the British license plate 'DL 39', making it the 39th car ever to have been registered in the 'DL' prefixed region of the United Kingdom, which is the Isle of Wright, a small island off the South Coast of England.

The previous owner took possession of the car in 1950 and regularly participated with the car in the London-to-Brighton Run in the UK. It completed no less than 40 consecutive editions of this event. In 1991, the car was retired from use. In 2000, it was entrusted to the Brooks/Bonhams team for sale, at which point it left the United Kingdom and came into the care of a US vintage car collector. By 2000, the Humber was in need of restorative attention, which the current owner undertook.
