1966 Plymouth Valiant

The 1966 Plymouth Valiant was avaialble as the V-100 and V-200 Series, along with the Signet. The convertible and 2-door sedan body styles were no longer offered on the V-200 series, which left the 4-door sedan and station wagon. The V-100 bodystyle list remained the same, consisting of a 2- and 4-door sedan, and a station wagon. Bodystyles on the Signet including a hardtop coupe and a convertible. The base engine remained a 170 cubic-inch six with 101 horsepower mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Other standard features included heater and defroster, vinyl interior, courtesy lights, front seat belts, front door armrests, and series identification badges. For those seeking more, they could purchase the V-200 Series, which added upgraded upholstery, deluxe carpeting, trim, molding, cigar lighter, and armrests in the front and rear.

Changes for the 1966 model year included new front fenders, new rear fenders on sedans, a heavier rear bumper, and modifications to the roofline. In the front was a large split grille with built-in round headlights.

The Signet Series was easily identified by the identification plates located on the front fender. They also had front fender turn indications, additional moldings, bucket seats with foam cushions in the front, full wheel covers, and wheel opening moldings.
