2003 Jaguar S-Type

Jaguar introduced the S-Type at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1998. It shared its name with one of the company's popular 1960s saloons, but the Geoff Lawson styling appeared to have been heavily influenced by several iconic Jaguar models from the same era. Jaguar was in Ford ownership when the S-Type was announced, and they elected to base it on a modified Lincoln LS platform. Initially, the S-Type was available with a choice of Jaguar's 3.0-liter V6 (235 HP) or a 4.0-liter V8 (282 HP). Both of these engines could be equipped to a five-speed manual or J-gate automatic gearbox. The interior was luxurious with a blend of leather and wood.

The S-Type would be in production for nine years and continue to be upgraded and modified during that time. The most potent version created was the S-Type R, which joined the line-up in 2002. Jaguar also introduced a number of special and limited editions, including the Sport 200 that was introduced in May 2003 and which, as the name suggests, had its production run restricted to just 200 units. The Sport 200 models included items such as SAT/NAV, 18-inch Monaco alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, heated front seat, rear spoiler and electrically operated boot lid,
