Land Rover And The Prince's Countryside Fund Launch 2018 Bursary To Support Young Rural Entrepreneurs

•Land Rover continues its partnership with The Prince's Countryside Fund with launch of the 2018 vehicle bursary to help rural businesses of the future.

•Now in its fifth year and open for entries, the bursary has already supported 20 rural professionals and reinforces the British car manufacturer's on-going support for the countryside.

•The bursary provides five British entrepreneurs with a Land Rover vehicle for a year, as well as all-terrain driver training and - new for 2018 – a towing training course.

Whitley, 19 March 2018: Land Rover has once again shown its support for the British countryside, announcing the launch of its fifth annual bursary in partnership with The Prince's Countryside Fund. The bursary will offer a year-long car loan and, for the first time, Land Rover are offering two Discovery Commercial vehicles as part of the line-up. These vehicles boast 1,856 litres of flexible, hard wearing loadspace accessed by a powered tailgate, towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes and Land Rover's legendary Terrain Response system. The two Discoverys will be joined by three Land Rover Discovery Sports, known for their capability over a wide variety of terrains and weather conditions.

These vehicles will be loaned to the most enterprising and entrepreneurial young people working in rural Britain. The Prince's Countryside Fund Land Rover Bursary is open to UK residents aged between 21 to 35, living and working in a rural area.

Scott Dicken, Jaguar Land Rover UK Marketing Director said, 'Our support of the Land Rover Bursary shares The Prince's Countryside Fund's vision to support Britain's rural communities. We both have a passion for the countryside and we hope that the use of a new Land Rover vehicle for a year will make a difference, improving the prospects for young entrepreneurs at the early stages of building their businesses.'

Winners of the bursary from 2017 include Lucy and husband Chris Williams from Bonar Bridge, Scotland. They have planted a tea garden on their croft called Tulloch Tea, to create a range of artisan teas that they plan to sell at shops and cafes along the popular North Coast 500 route. To diversify their business further, the Williams' are also producing a range of goat's milk beauty products infused with tea, including body lotion and soap. Initially they plan to stock the products in the highlands, with a vision to expand across the UK.

Claire Saunders, Director of The Prince's Countryside Fund said 'We are delighted to be working in partnership with Land Rover again, to provide young people embarking on a career in the countryside with these wonderful vehicles that are so valuable to their fledgling businesses'.
