1930 Gardner Series 140

The Gardner Motor Company, based in St. Louis, built around 55,000 cars between 1919 and 1931, but only 142 are known to survive today - and there are believed to be only two model 140 Sport Roadsters. The sport roadster, with its 90 horsepower straight-8 Lycoming engine, was often used as a pursuit vehicle by police, including the California Highway Patrol. Gardners also won several races and established three US cross-country speed records.
