1931 Duesenberg Model J Derham Sport Convertible Sedan heads the early consignments for Worldwide's Pacific Grove Auction on the Monterey Peninsula

Auburn, Indiana. June 12, 2018. Worldwide Auctioneers is gearing up for its annual The Pacific Grove Auction on the Monterey Peninsula, scheduled for Thursday, August 23rd, once again the first catalogue auction of Monterey Car Week. Among the early consignments is an exceptionally pure 1931 Duesenberg Model J Derham Sport Convertible Sedan that retains its original chassis, engine, body and firewall. 'Here is a thrilling opportunity to acquire one of the finest and rarest surviving Model Js in existence,' said Rod Egan, Principal & Auctioneer. 'This exceptionally pure example is one of just five built and one of only two with a dashing 'V' windshield, carrying fascinating and well-known history and offered from a limited owner roster.'

Also consigned without reserve is an exceedingly rare 1916 Locomobile Model 38 Collapsible Cabriolet, FIVA Preservation Award winner at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, one of just two known examples with an enthralling history and wonderful presentation and patina. Jaguar enthusiasts can look forward to two exceptional E-Types: a numbers-matching 1968 Jaguar XK E-Type Roadster, with only one owner from new, offered with all original paperwork including the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, judged perfect by JCNA over 36 times with 100 point scores and likely the finest example extant and another complete numbers-matching 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster, an extremely rare, flat-floor, outside-bonnet latch, early production car from the inaugural model year, verified by Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. Other outstanding sports cars slated for the sale include a 1966 Shelby GT350, verified by SAAC Registrar, Howard Pardee, a proven track car in vintage races all over the world with single ownership since 1984.

'We're looking forward to welcoming customers and friends back out to Pacific Grove in August for another outstanding event in what is widely acknowledged to be one of the finest locations on the Monterey Peninsula,' said Rod Egan.
