1985 Chevrolet Citation II

Production of the Chevrolet Citation lasted from 1980 through 1985. It served as a successor to the Nova and in comparison was significantly downsized to the car it replaced. It rested on a variant of GM's X Platform and was adapted for front-wheel drive.

For 1985, this compact car was available as a 2- or 4-door hatchback coupe. Nine new body colors were offered, along with a slew of other choices. Inside, there was a new dashboard with a horizontal-style radio. Electronic tuning models were now available, with or without a cassette tape player.

The Citation X11 package included a 130 horsepower, 173 cubic-inch V6 engine with multi-port fuel injection. This engine could also be fitted separately, in all models. The base powerplant was a 151 cubic-inch four-cylinder unit with hydraulic roller valve lifters.

The X11 Package also added power brakes, sport steering wheel, sport cloth bucket seats, domed hood with air inlet, body-color bumpers, rear deck spoiler, F41 sport suspension, X11 decals, and newly-styled Rally wheels. Also included were B-pillar/window frames and tail lamp frames, grille, and black headlamp bezels.

The final Citation rolled off the assembly line on June 21st of 1985.
