The 1982 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency was available as a coupe, sedan, or Brougham. A total of 11,832 examples of the coupe were built along with a combined 79,135 examples of the Sedan and Brougham. Pricing began at just over $12,100 for the coupe and rose to $13,345 for the Brougham. In comparison to its 1981 sibling, the 1982 version received a new checkered lattice-design grille which was divided into two separate sections. The base engine was an overhead-valve V6 unit displacing 4.1-liters and offering 125 horsepower. An optional 5.0-liter V8 was available, bringing horsepower to 140 bhp. The standard transmission was a four-speed automatic with overdrive. The Regency Brougham had a vinyl padded roof, locking wire wheel covers, convenience group, lower body and bodyside moldings, sail panel emblem, halogen headlamps, cornering lamps, and deluxe interior components.
