Knockhill Back On Renault UK Clio Cup Calendar For 2019The spectacular Knockhill circuit in Fife will make a welcome return to the Renault UK Clio Cup's race calendar in 2019.

The Clio Cup will visit Knockhill on the weekend of Saturday 14/Sunday 15 September as part of its nine-event tour around the UK alongside the high profile British Touring Car Championship.

In addition, instead of May, the Clio Cup's annual visit to Thruxton will now come later in the year (Sat 17/Sun 18 August) at the second of two visits to the Hampshire circuit by the BTCC.

Jillian Shedden, Knockhill Circuit Managing Director, commented: 'We're delighted that the Renault UK Clio Cup will return to Knockhill with the BTCC in 2019.

'It's a championship our fans have always enjoyed seeing in action around Knockhill – certainly the twists and turns of our circuit really suit a major one-make saloon car category like the Clio Cup.

'It is also great news to see Renault, one of the world's biggest motoring brands, bringing its premier motor sport activity in the UK back into Scotland. We can't wait!'

Renault Sport's UK Motorsport Championship Manager Will Fewkes said: 'We are very pleased that Knockhill is back on our calendar for 2019 following a four-year absence.

'Knockhill has produced some of the Clio Cup's most exciting moments throughout the years – its circuit lay-out is like no other and the welcome the championship has always received there means it is also much liked by our teams and drivers.

'Furthermore, Scotland has historically been an important market for Renault and also boasts an enthusiastic community of Renault Sport owners. We look forward to seeing many of them at Knockhill next year.'
