Porsche's factory-built racecar developed to compete in the GT Daytona class of the United Sports Car Racing series was the Porsche 911 GT America. It was based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racer and featured lightweight bodywork with aluminum-and-steel composite construction, a 4.0-liter flat-six racing engine with electronic throttle control adn 470 horsepower, a six-speed sequential transmission with a pneumatic paddle-shift system, and 15-inch, slotted, vented, steel brake rotors with six-piston aluminum fixed calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. They had a rescue opening in the roof to allow use of a Kendrick extrication device in the event of a crash. Additionally, there was a fuel safety-cell with quick-fill connection and a factory-supplied endurance package included quick-release couplings for all brake calipers, a fast-fill refueling system for engine oil, and an oil-level display. On the inside was a color Cosworth dash display.

The Porsche 911 GT America was sold exclusively in North America by Porsche Motorsport North America, Inc., with deliveries beginning in late 2013 to teams committed to contesting the entire 2014 USCR season. The cost to own a 911 GT America was $269,000, which included shipping and a parts package.

A total of 15 examples were sold for the 2014 model year and just one for the 2015 model year.
