Bedford Vehicles was established in April of 1931 and was a brand of vehicle manufactured by Vauxhall Motors. Vauxhall, itself, was a part of General Motors after 1925. The Bedford Company produced light, medium, and heavy-duty Lorries in Europe during its lifespan, which ended in the early 1990s.

The company's most popular light-duty vehicle was the CA, introduced in 1952 and remaining in production through 1969. It shared its powertrain with the Vauxhall Victor, a 1500cc inline four-cylinder unit offering 50 horsepower. The chassis was popular for aftermarket camper conversions, including those done by Martin-Walter, best known for their Dormobile caravan.

This particular Bedford Dormobile arrived on the West Coast of the United States via New Zealand. It is finished in dark red and wears an older restoration. There are original Dormobile badges and the Martin-Walker coachbuilder's plaque affixed below the rear door. The interior has modernized storage cabinets with a sink, a Waeco portable refrigerator, and a portable gas camp stove. A New 40-liter wastewater tank and Zempire camping latrine have been installed. The front seat is foldable and transforms into a lay-flat bed. The Bedford is capable of sleeping up to four individuals.
