1972 Sandley Steam Wagon 1972 Sandley Steam Wagon 1972 Sandley Steam Wagon This vehicle is the one and only Sandley Steam Wagon. Built by Mr. Norman K. Sandley at the Sandley Light Railway Works in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, it is a steam vehicle that can run on any solid fuel.

Featuring a fire-tube boiler, it was manufactured entirely in-house as an alternative vehicle during the energy crisis of the 1970s. It has 35 flues and is rated at 250 psi. The boiler is connected to a 2-cylinder double-acting compound 1909 White steam engine with Joy valve gear. It is rated at 20 horsepower at 600 psi.

The Sandley Steam Wagon has an open cab in the style of an English Lorry. It has leather seats, a steam whistle, a bulb horn, two steam injectors, a 12-volt electrical system, three steam gauges, two toolboxes, and much more.
