Volvo produced the P1800 front-engine, rear-drive sports car from 1961 to 1973. Production totals reach 39,407 notch coupes and 8,077 sports estate body styles. It wore styling by Pelle Petterson under the guidance of Pietro Frua when Frua's studio was a subsidiary of the Italian carrozzeria Ghia. The mechanical components of the P1800 were derived from Volvo's Amazon/122 series. The P1800 received international fame when it starred alongside actor Roger Moore in the television series The Saint, which aired from 1962 through 1969.

Auction entries : 1The 1965 version of the P1800 was powered by a 1,778cc four-cylinder engine offering 100 horsepower and 108 lb/ft of torque. The engine was backed by a four-speed manual transmission and the steering was by cam-and-roller. Disc brakes were in the front with drums at the rear. Pricing in the U.S. began at around $4,000.
