Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Abu Dhabi, Target Sees The Title
Sant'Agata Bolognese/Abu Dhabi, 22 February 2019 – The Target Racing team clinched the win in Race 1 at the Yas Marina circuit, staking its bid for the title in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East 2019. After a triple win in Dubai, Timur Boguslavskiy and Frederik Schandorff dominated Friday's racing in Abu Dhabi, taking the pole in qualifying and winning the first heat of the weekend.
At the end of the 50 minutes of racing, Boguslavskiy crossed the finish line undisturbed, followed by Azzam, first in the Pro-Am category. In third place was Amici, who had replaced Basz in the Huracán no. 5 fielded by FFF Racing. In the Am class it was Vincent Schwartz who won the day with the Konrad Motorsport team's Huracán no. 11; top honours in the Lamborghini Cup went to Gabriele Murroni in car no. 88.

Schandorff made his intentions clear from the off: starting on pole behind the wheel of Target Racing's Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 9, he kept Basz of FFF Racing firmly behind him to take the lead, while behind them Jefferies (Konrad Motorsport) and Afanasyev (Artline Team Georgia) battled for third place. Half way through the race, Schandorff handed the wheel to Boguslavskiy, who skilfully capitalised on the advantage built up thanks to a gutsy pace that gave him a comfortable lead on Azzam, who had replaced Jefferies behind the wheel of the Huracán no. 29 and edged into second place.
