1995 Ford Crown Victoria

Ford first used the Crown Victoria nameplate in 1955 on the Fairlane range. The most distinguishable difference between the Fairlane and the Crown Victoria was the Crown Victoria's B-pillared roof line capped with a stainless-steel band which 'crowned' the car - Ford's interpretation of the 'Victoria Carriage' body style. Two years later, the Crown Victoria was replaced by the Ford Fairlane 500 as the brand flagship.

The name took a twenty-three-year hiatus, returning in 1980 as a downsized version of the LTD lineup. In 1991, the LTD prefix was dropped and the Crown Victoria began production as an independent model. It would enjoy a versatile existence, serving as taxi cabs, police cars, and everything in between.

Trim levels on the 1995 Ford Crown Victoria included the base and LX, priced at $20,160 and $21,970 respectively. Power was from a 281 cubic-inch V8 delivering 190 horsepower at 4,250 RPM and 260 lbs-feet at 3,200 RPM. A four-speed overdrive automatic was standard, steering was handled by a recirculating ball, and braking was by four-wheel disc brakes. The interior was revised with a new instrument panel, door panels, and seats. The exterior also received updating with new tail lamps, bumpers, bodyside moldings, and grille.

New standard features included a heated rearview mirror and a battery saver. Other standard features included the driver and passenger's side airbag, brake shift lock, express-down power window feature, and driver's footrest.
