Audi Makes Next Move In US Mobility Strategy With Silvercar, Inc. Leadership Announcement

HERNDON, Va., July 26, 2019 – Audi advances its mobility strategy in the U.S. with the appointment of Matt Carpenter to CEO of Silvercar, Inc.

In his role, Matt will drive the Audi mobility strategy in the U.S. by integrating business operations between Audi of America and Silvercar, steering new business model initiatives, and leading Silvercar's business units at its headquarters in Austin, Texas as well as across the U.S. Carpenter's appointment is effective August 1, 2019.

'Matt brings vital business and leadership experience to the role, but also a customer-centric perspective, which is absolutely critical as Audi continues to move America in 2019 and beyond.'

Matt, 39, joined Audi of America in 2007 as a Business Management Consultant in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and later as Vehicle Merchandising Manager in Herndon, Virginia. In 2011, having been recently appointed GM Vehicle Sales, Matt played a key role in the original partnership between Audi and Silvercar. Audi led the series C investment round in 2015 and completed the full acquisition in 2017. In 2018, Matt was appointed to the Silvercar Board of Directors by AUDI AG and later named interim CEO in December 2018. He currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Audi of America.

Matt has also held positions as VW Credit, Inc. in Auburn Hills, Michigan and AUDI AG in Ingolstadt, Germany. Before Audi, Matt held various positions at Ford Motor Company. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Silvercar helps Audi strengthen its platforms to serve the evolving mobility needs of the U.S. marketplace. The two companies have worked together since 2012, developing and delivering innovative consumer mobility offerings under different brands, including Silvercar by Audi and Audi select. The company employs about 300 people.
