Mitsubishi has been recognized as the 'Best All-Around Performance Brand' and 'Best Economic Performance Brand' for 2017 by the Automotive Science Group (ASG), a data-driven research group founded by environmental policy consultancy Eco-innovations, LLC. In addition to the overall brand awards, the annual study also named three Mitsubishi models among the top vehicles in their categories in ASG's 2017 Automotive Performance Index (API).

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage earned the 'Best All-Around Performance' and 'Best Economic Performance Car of 2017' honor. The 'Best All-Around Performance' award, the highest distinction in its class, is designated to the vehicle with the top combined environmental, social and economic performance analysis. The Mirage also received the best environmental performance rating of any conventional powered car in 2017.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander was another winner of the 'Best All-Around Performance' award. The Outlander outperformed all vehicles in the Crossover class to take the top honor in a competitive class of 198 Crossovers for model year 2017.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport earned ASG's '2017 Best 5 All-Around Performance' honor. The '2017 Best 5 All-Around Performance' honor is distinguished among an elite group of five vehicles in its class to achieve the highest combined social, environmental and economic performance scores. The honored models are the best overall performers in class and among ASG's top selections for 2017.
