| Today, the Buick brand announced its best June sales results dating back six years. Compared with 2011, retail sales—those vehicles sold to individual customers—for the month increased by 18 percent, while total sales were up 27 percent. Through the first six months of 2012, year-to-date retail Buick sales are up 2 percent.
Buick continues to grow in new markets for the brand. In June, sales in Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Miami increased by 58 percent, 41 percent, and 35 percent respectively. In all parts of the country, Buick customers are being greeted by newly remodeled dealership facilities and Experience Buick, a new approach to leasing.
'Our dealers now have the key elements in place: strong products, new facilities and smart ownership options like Experience Buick leasing,' said Brian Sweeney, vice president of Buick Sales and Service. 'As a result, customers are coming from outside GM brands at a rate as high as 1 in 2 for vehicles like Verano.'
Three all-new sedans in three years have also contributed to Buick's growth. In June, sedan sales represented 72 percent of Buick's business, and the new 2012 Verano luxury sedan has seen sales increases in each of its first eight months on the market.
