Today, the Buick brand announced its best June sales results dating back six years. Compared with 2011, retail sales—those vehicles sold to individual customers—for the month increased by 18 percent, while total sales were up 27 percent. Through the first six months of 2012, year-to-date retail Buick sales are up 2 percent.

Buick continues to grow in new markets for the brand. In June, sales in Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Miami increased by 58 percent, 41 percent, and 35 percent respectively. In all parts of the country, Buick customers are being greeted by newly remodeled dealership facilities and Experience Buick, a new approach to leasing.

'Our dealers now have the key elements in place: strong products, new facilities and smart ownership options like Experience Buick leasing,' said Brian Sweeney, vice president of Buick Sales and Service. 'As a result, customers are coming from outside GM brands at a rate as high as 1 in 2 for vehicles like Verano.'

Three all-new sedans in three years have also contributed to Buick's growth. In June, sedan sales represented 72 percent of Buick's business, and the new 2012 Verano luxury sedan has seen sales increases in each of its first eight months on the market.

May and June marked the best sedan sales months for Buick since September 2007, averaging more than 10,000 sedan sales during the two months.

LaCrosse, Buick's best-selling luxury sedan, has started 2012 with its best first-half sales ever. In June, retail LaCrosse sales were up 9 percent, with nearly a quarter of those sales coming from the fuel-efficient eAssist model estimated at 36 highway mpg.

Regal luxury sport sedan sales were down in June as the brand continues to focus on reducing fleet sales, while refocusing on sales of the eAssist, Turbo and GS variants. Sales of those three models have increased a combined 50 percent since the start of 2012. Production of the base 2.4L 4-cylinder model ceased as Buick offers customers either the 2.4L eAssist or Turbo as standard powertrain options in the 2013 Regal.

Buick Enclave retail sales grew 10 percent year-over-year in June. The luxury crossover SUV was recently ranked highest in its segment in the 2012 J.D. Power & Associates Initial Quality Study.

Buick is a modern luxury brand offering vehicles with sculpted designs, luxurious interiors with thoughtful personal technologies, along with responsive-yet-efficient performance. Buick is attracting new customers with its portfolio of award-winning luxury models, including the Enclave crossover, LaCrosse sedan, Regal sport sedan, Buick Verano sedan and the all-new 2013 Encore crossover.
