This 1938 Voisin C28 Cabriolet has coachwork attributed to R. Saliot, a facility originally established in 1920 in Levallis-Perret, and later moved to Neuilly in 1938. It is finished in a two-tone paint scheme and is one of the final examples constructed before the Second World War. Its styling is very elegant with design cues that are not traditionally found on a Voisin. It was shown at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Voisin was the celebrated marque.

This C28 is one of two Voisins known with coachwork attributed to R. Saliot. Saliot was one of the Voisin service and maintenance depots and occasionally 'produced' a 'Saliot Special' body on the chassis. The actual building was always contracted to another shop and Saliot itself had no coachbuilding facilities. Thus, the exact shop which produced the body on this particular C28 is not known, but it is believed to have been installed for the Neuilly facility in 1946 or 1947.
Saliot eventually gave the cabriolet to Father Jean Gehard, a Benedictine monk and longtime confidante of Gabriel Voisin. In 1967 it was sold at auction. Later it was acquired by Hans Bitterworld, from whose collection it was sold in the early 1990s to a Voisin historian. While in their care, it was given a complete restoration, first in metallic blue, then in its present livery.
