The Iso Grifo was one of the world's fastest production cars at the time, with power being sourced from the Chevrolet Corvette. It offered American power with a sleek Italian design.
This particular example was built in September of 1966 and is believed to have been the company's show car at the 53rd Salon de l'Automoible, the Paris Auto Show, in October of 1966. It is believed to have been originally ordered by Nuccio Bertone. It was initially purchased in Italy, then sold to a buyer in the Netherlands where it remained for a long period of time. In 2013, it was imported to the United States, where it has been well-maintained and secured in a climate-controlled facility.
Prior to purchase, the Grifo was given a rebuild of its V-8 engine and interior compartment refurbishment. The car has also been repainted in its original Grigio Astrale finish, which complements the Pelle Avana interior with its leather seating, wood dashboard, and carpets. Currently, the odometer shows 93,748 kilometers. It has knock-off alloy wheels which are factory original, and there is a spare tire in the trunk.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2017
