This vehicle is a 1930 Rolls-Royce 20/25hp Boat Tail Speedster with chassis number GDP34 and is in right-hand drive configuration. It has coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly who finished the car in a two-door, fixed-head coupe body-style for its first owner, Captain J. C. Blair. It was later given a Boat-Tail Speedster body. The car has been treated to a restoration, which was completed near the end of the 1970s. It is finished in brown and yellow with a tan leather interior.
This car was offered for sale at the 2006 Bonhams & Butterfields auction held at the Quail Lodge in Carmel, California where it was estimated to sell between $25,000 - $35,000. Though it does have an older restoration and it is considered a 'smaller' Rolls-Royce, it did find a new owner, selling for nearly the estimated value at $23,400.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2007
