1929 Packard 645 Deluxe Eight Custom Roadster

This 1929 Packard 645 Custom Roadster with coachwork by Rollston was built for the 1929 New York Auto Salon. It was commissioned by the Packard factory, and no expense was spared in its construction. At the time when a basic Ford saloon cost around $600, this Packard chassis alone cost $3,000 and an additional $9,000 was required to fit the car with its custom Rollston bodywork. After being shown, the roadster was sold to a wealthy New York resident who kept it until being sold to Shelly Vincent III, the nephew of Colonel Jesse Vincent, Packard's great engineer. From 1964 (or 1965), it was owned by Vincent. Shelley purchased the car from Tiny Gould for the sum of $6,500.

The car wears an old restoration and is a past national CCCA and AACA national winner. The car was originally equipped with Ebony wood running boards with chrome strips and chrome wire wheels. The car retains its original chassis, body, and engine and is the only surviving 645 Roadster bodied by Rollston.
