1966 Porsche 912 Coupe

Porsche unveiled the 912 in 1965 as an entry-level alternative to the newly introduced 911. The style and design were similar between the two, but the 912 had fewer standard amenities and was priced closer to the company's outgoing 356. The engine was a re-tuned version of the 356 SC's 1.6-liter pushrod flat-four engine - a smaller and less powerful unit compared to the 911's flat six-cylinder engine.

This 1966 Porsche 912 was supplied new in January 1966 through Porsche Cars Pacific of Burlingame, California, the distributor for Porsche in Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Utah. It wore a Sand Beige (6807) exterior over a brown leatherette interior and included chrome wheels, driver's side mirror, square-weave interior finishing, Blaupunkt Bremen radio, and wheel center caps with the Porsche crest.

The current Portuguese owners acquired this Porsche in June 2018. Near the close of that year, SportClasse in Lisbon, Portugal, was tasked with rebuilding the 912's drivetrain.

This Porsche 912 is powered by a 1,582cc flat four-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors and produces 90 horsepower at 5,800 RPM. There is a four-speed manual transaxle, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, and an independent suspension with torsion bars.
