RED BULL GRC LAS VEGAS TO FEATURE UNIQUE NEW TRACK LAYOUT
October 28, 2015 by Global RallyCross ChampionshipRed Bull Global Rallycross will boast a brand new track layout for its November 4 return to the Village Lot on the Las Vegas Strip. At .814 miles, the new layout is significantly longer than the course used two years ago, with multiple unique features adding to the drama of 2015's season finale. Drivers will shoot down the expanded frontstretch after launching from the Royal Purple Starting Grid, ducking into two successive righthanders much like they did in 2013. That's where the similarities end, however—a right-left chicane leads drivers into the dirt section, which comprises turns five, six, and seven. On the main lap, drivers will take the jump after turn seven before returning to pavement in the left-hand turns eight and nine; in addition, drivers can take the Kobalt Tools Joker Lap to bypass the jump, get back onto pavement, and cut their lap length to .770 miles. The main lap and Kobalt Tools Joker Lap rejoin on the backstretch, which runs parallel to the frontstretch before cutting into the left-hand turn 10. The right-hand turn 11, one of the tightest corners on the course, sets up drivers for the sweeping combination of turns 12 and 13 before they return to the frontstretch.
