The Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight was introduced in 1949, and 1960 would be the final year of fourth-generation production and the last year for the company's traditional three series format of only full-size cars. Oldsmobile models included the Dynamic Eighty-Eight, the Super Eighty-Eight, and the top-of-the-line Ninety-Eight. The Dynamic 88 was powered by a 371 CID V8, and the Super 88 and 98 shared an overhead valve 394 CID V8. The interior received a new gauge cluster design and additional space courtesy of a smaller transmission tunnel.
