Race Groups Announced for 2015 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion• Entry Requests Open November 17

MONTEREY, Calif., October 14, 2014 – For the caretakers of period-correct historic race cars, November 17 will likely now be marked on their calendars, as it is the opening day entry requests can be submitted to compete in the annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 13-16, 2015 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The entry request process continues through January 31, 2015 and is conducted exclusively online at MazdaRaceway.com. Each year, upwards of 900 submissions arrive from across the country and internationally, with the owners' hoping to be one of the 550 cars accepted. The opening of the entry process coincides with the formal announcement of the 2015 featured marque.

Each car accepted will be based on its authenticity, race provenance and the historical accuracy of its mechanical preparation and livery. This is a distinguishing hallmark of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which adheres to a strict code of authenticity.

1927-1951 Racing

1955-1962 GT

1963-1966 GT over 2500cc

1973-1981 FIA, IMSA, GT, GTX, AAGT, GTU

It is a time-consuming process for the Governing Committee to evaluate each application and then narrow the invitations down to 550 amazing cars.'

As the largest event of the Monterey Classic Car Week, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit, which has been the scene of America's golden years of sports car racing since its inception in 1957. In addition to the continuous on-track action, there are engaging autograph and Q&A sessions with legendary drivers, fine wine and cheese tastings, and shopping among the myriad of activities for guests to enjoy.
