NISSAN PRODUCTION, SALES AND EXPORT RESULTS FOR MAY 2015
June 30, 2015 by NissanYOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for May 2015. 1. Production Nissan's global production in May increased 1.9% year-on-year to 434,332 units. Production in Japan increased 8.0% year-on-year to 66,978 units, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail. Production outside Japan increased 0.9% year-on-year to 367,354 units, marking an all-time record for the month of May. In the U.S., production increased 2.7% year-on-year to 83,672 units, marking an all-time record for the month of May, mainly due to increased demand for the Murano. In Mexico, production decreased 5.2% year-on-year to 70,298 units. In the U.K., production decreased 6.6% year-on-year to 38,513 units.

In Spain, production decreased 34.7% year-on-year to 10,681 units. In China, production declined 5.6% year-on-year to 100,927 units. Production in other regions was up 43.5% year-on-year to 63,263 units, mainly due to an increase in production volume of the Rogue (X-Trail in Japan), which is produced in Korea for the North America market, and the NP300 Navara produced in Thailand. 2. Sales Global sales in May decreased 0.1% year-on-year to 442,408 units. Sales in Japan, including mini-vehicles, declined 10.3% year-on-year to 38,880 units. Vehicle registrations in Japan were down 3.8% year-on-year to 25,521 units. Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 20.6% year-on-year to 13,359 units. Sales outside Japan were up 1.0% year-on-year to 403,528 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of May. In the U.S., sales decreased 0.8% year-on-year to 134,779 units. In Mexico, sales increased 20.6% year-on-year to 26,687 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of May, mainly due to higher sales volume of the X-Trail and the new NP300 Frontier. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 72 consecutive months. In Europe, sales increased 5.7% year-on-year to 60,198 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of May, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail and the Pulsar. In China, sales were up 0.1% year-on-year to 102,545 units, mainly due to sales of the X-Trail and the Sylphy series. Sales in other regions decreased 2.2% year-on-year to 66,199 units. 3. Japan Exports Nissan's exports in May increased 7.2% year-on-year to 34,567 units.
