1987 Chevrolet Caprice Navigation
The 1987 Chevrolet Caprice was available as a Caprice and Caprice Classic in sedan, Sport Coupe, Brougham, and Station Wagon body styles (the sport coupe and brougham were offered only on the Caprice Classic). The base engine was a 4.3-liter V6 with an optional 305 CID V8 rated at 140 horsepower. New for 1987 were stand-up hood ornaments and composite headlamps that combined low and high beams into a single unit. Standard equipment came with an AM radio, power steering, power brakes, a three-speed automatic transmission, a folding center armrest in the front, full wheel covers, cloth bench seats, a day/night mirror, two-speed windshield wipers, roof drip moldings, a front stabilizer bar, windshield moldings, belt moldings, body sill moldings, and carpeted lower door trim panels. The Caprice Classic had cloth-insert door trim panels, a dual-note horn, quartz cloth, bright-hand wheel opening moldings, lower body-side moldings, and a headlamps-on buzzer. The sedans and coupes had bumper rub strips. Station wagons were equipped with a power tailgate window, an automatic overdrive transmission, and a heavy-duty suspension. The Brougham Sedan package had a full vinyl roof, cloth pillow-style seats in the front with a center armrest, front door-operated dome lights, map lights, warning lights, and 'Brougham' identification. The LS Brougham had more luxurious trim, a Landau roof, and a sportier persona.
