1983 BMW 633CSi

The BMW 633CSi made its introduction as a mid-year model in 1978, when the 630CSi was given a larger engine, growing from 3.0 to 3.2 liters. The larger engine had one additional horsepower over its counterpart, but torque grew by 11 lb.ft. The European version was rated at 200 BHP while the US version offered 177 BHP. US models had a top speed of 124 mph while the European versions achieved their top speed at 133 mph. Standard equipment included air conditioning, radio, power steering, center door locking, disc brakes, and four-wheel independent suspension. By 1981, additional items were added to the standard item list, including leather upholstery, electric sunroof, and BBS Mahle light-alloy wheels. The following year, BMW added (as standard equipment), an electric rear-window defroster, AM/FM stereo with cassette player, and center door locking.

The wheelbase measured 103.4-inches. Originally, a four speed gearbox was standard, but this was soon replaced by a five-speed manual or an optional three-speed automatic.

By 1983, the engine in the BMW 633CSi developed 181 horsepower and nearly 200 lbs-ft of torque. The front of the car was given a restyled nose and changes. It had a modified front suspension, similar to the one found in the BMW 7-Series. They came standard with a front spoiler, center console, and rear bucket seats. Pricing began at just over $39,000 for the 2-door coupe.
