MITSUBISHI MOTORS USA FOUNDATION AND O'BRIEN MITSUBISHI ESTABLISH SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR HEARTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE

◾The Heartland Community College Scholarship will benefit graduates of three local high schools

◾Scholarships will be awarded each fall for the next five years for a total of $52,500

◾This scholarship is the first of several donations the Mitsubishi Motors USA Foundation will be making to give back to the Central Illinois community

Mitsubishi Motors USA Foundation, in partnership with O'Brien Mitsubishi of Normal, Illinois, announced today a scholarship fund at Heartland Community College to benefit graduates of Normal Community High School, Normal West High School and Bloomington High School. Each fall, 15 scholarships will be awarded for the next five years at a total of $52,500, or $10,500 per year.

'Mitsubishi holds family and citizenship as core values and has a longstanding history of supporting the local community,' said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. 'MMNA believes charitable giving to organizations is important to the health and well-being of the community and is part of our obligation as good corporate citizens.'

Five students at each of the three local high schools will be awarded scholarships to be used at Heartland Community College. Three scholarships will be for $500 and two scholarships will be for $1,000. In total, 75 scholarships will be granted in the five-year period.

'Today's scholarship announcement is the first of several donations the Mitsubishi Motors USA Foundation will be making to give back to the Central Illinois community, a region that has meant so much to the brand's success over last three-plus decades,' said Ryan Gremore, general manager, O'Brien Mitsubishi. 'This announcement reinforces our ongoing commitment to the region for many years to come.
