HERSHEY, PA - Emerging as one of the nation's most unique and successful charitable fundraising events, organizers of The Elegance at Hershey distributed $125,000 to its designated beneficiaries last week, including $75,000 to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

The Elegance at Hershey, a weekend-long series of vintage and collector car events each June at the historic Hotel Hershey, also presented $25,000 to the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum in Hershey, with a similar distribution to the AACA Library & Research Center. This year's check presentations bring the total amount raised for charity through The Elegance at Hershey to more than $800,000 during its first five years.

'With the generous help from our sponsors, donors and patrons, we are pleased to again make these significant contributions to our beneficiaries,' noted Michael Rich, chairman of The Elegance at Hershey Board. 'By combining the very finest in cars with very worthwhile causes, we have established The Elegance as a major national philanthropic event,' he said. Mr. Rich's father, Jack Rich, was instrumental in founding The Elegance at Hershey in 2010.

Susan Harral, Executive Director of JDRF's Central PA Chapter, comments 'On behalf of our Chapter, we wish to thank the organizers, volunteers, sponsors and donors who make The Elegance at Hershey possible each year. We are delighted to be a part of this unique and memorable event and look forward to our continued association. We are most honored to be a beneficiary of this event and we thank The Elegance Board for this generous donation. Funds received through this event help support our efforts in type 1 diabetes research, outreach initiatives and programs for those impacted by this disease as we continue our quest for a cure.'

'Our AACA Library & Research Center is a free public library,' noted Steve Moskowitz, Executive Director of the AACA.
