McLaren Automotive's latest Ultimate Series supercar – the stunning 789bhp McLaren Senna – will soon be accessible to a new audience, one that will be able to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel as part of McLaren's latest collaboration with Microsoft's Forza racing franchise in the highly anticipated 'Forza Horizon 4.'
As the cover star of the latest entry in the award-winning Forza Horizon series, the McLaren Senna also made its North American debut at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, USA on June 12 – starring as the centrepiece of Microsoft's Mixer booth where fans got their first chance to try the McLaren Senna in 'Forza Horizon 4.'
This latest partnership between the British creator of luxury sportscars and supercars and Microsoft follows a rich history of collaboration where McLaren cars have been featured extensively throughout the Forza catalogue, including the McLaren P1TM which debuted on stage at E3 2013 and was the cover star of 'Forza Motorsport 5.'
'We are delighted to be working so closely with Microsoft on their Forza racing franchise. Videogames are now so realistic and our relationship with Forza has been a powerful tool both to grow brand awareness and show what makes McLaren cars so special,' said Jolyon Nash, Executive Director of Global Sales & Marketing for McLaren Automotive.
'We are proud of our long-term partnership with McLaren with whom we have a rich history,' adds Alan Hartman, Studio Head of Turn 10 Studios. 'We look forward to creating even more ground-breaking moments and experiences together, and will continue to share our common passion for delivering automotive entertainment to both gaming and driving enthusiasts alike.'
The McLaren Senna – named after legendary Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna – is the most extreme road car that McLaren has ever built. Designed to be the most responsive and engaging car in the portfolio, it delivers the purest connection between driver and car and is limited to just 500 units worldwide, all of which have already been sold at a list price of $958,966 (U.S.).
Delivering a massive 789bhp from its mid-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the McLaren Senna is also the lightest McLaren since the legendary F1 and can reach 124mph in just 6.8 seconds and 186mph in 17.5 seconds, whilst delivering massive downforce totaling some 1764lbs by employing its active front and rear aerodynamic devices.
In 'Forza Horizon 4' – the highly anticipated follow-up to 2016's breakout hit 'Forza Horizon 3' – players can get behind the wheel of the McLaren Senna in a shared open-world experience that features dynamic seasons in stunning native 4K and HDR.
The game, to be launched officially on October 2, 2018 on Xbox One, Windows 10 PCs and Xbox Game Pass, re-imagines open-world driving with new features, historic locations in McLaren Automotive's home market of Britain, and more choice and customization than ever before, including over 450 cars at launch. More surprises and activities are planned later in the year as the McLaren and Forza partnership continues.
