1939 Chevrolet Business Coupe Modified Stock news, pictures, and information

This modified stock car began its life as a 1939 Chevrolet Business Coupe. When the builders were done, it was a highly specialized dirt track racecar wîth a 'minimal' coupe body, oversized aluminum brake drums, wide wheels, and a 'quick change' rear end (rear axle ratios could be quickly changed to suit the track). Its 250 cubic inch engine is fitted wîth twin headers, performance carburetor and internal modifications. The 'lightly rumpled' condition of the body and the sturdy bumpers at the front and rear of the vehicle bears attest to the 'full contact' nature of dirt-track racing.
