2004 Kia Optima news, pictures, and information

The Kia Optima was introduced in 2001 and shared many similarities to the Hyundai Sonata. It had similar styling with a few of the same interior features. Mechanically, they were also very similar.

In 2003, the Optima was give dual headlights and minor designs enhancements. The following year, the grilled was redesigned.

An all-new Optima was introduced in Korea in late 2005. The 2006 North American International Auto Show saw the introduction of this new Optima in production form. The car is offered with three engine options, a four-cylinder in 2.0 and 2.4-liter form that provides 145 and 160 horsepower respectively. The V6 engine provides 185 horsepower. There is a five-speed automatic and manual gearbox.
