The full-size Mercury Park Lane was built from 1958 through 1960, and from 1964 through 1968. In 1965 the chassis of all full-size Ford and Mercury cars were redesigned with the Mercury line receiving a much more slab-sided appearance. The 1967 Mercury Park Lane body styles included a convertible, 2-door hardtop coupe, 4-door hardtop sedan, and a 4-door Breezeway that had a slanting, retractable rear window. Pricing began at $3,735 for the Breezway and nearly $4,000 for the convertible. The most popular body style was the sedan with 5,412 units sold while the convertible was the most exclusive with 1,191 examples built. The base engine was an overhead-valve, 410 CID V8 with a four-barrel carburetor delivering 330 horsepower at 4,600 RPM. A four-speed manual transmission was standard or optional Merc-O-Matic SelectShift automatic. Standard equipment included rear seat armrests, vanity mirror, an automatic parking brake release, power front disc brakes, and a spare tire cover.

Mercury's full-size line was redesigned for 1969, and the Marquis was expanded to a full model range, making the Park Lane obsolete.
